How this is checked

A small serverless function sends one request to each service and times the answer. Results are cached for five minutes, so a busy page doesn't hit the servers on every visit.

Services on Render's free tier go to sleep after 15 minutes without traffic and take about half a minute to start again. If one is asleep, Wake it sends a request from your browser and shows how long the cold start takes.
